On 25 May 2018 Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association in cooperation with Ilia State University organizes an international conference on the rule of law - "Old Constitution with New Meaning-Challenges in Norway and Georgia"
The reform of the Constitution and the protection of civil rights remain the priority directions of the law reform. Norway has just observed two hundred anniversary of adoption of the Constitution and met this remarkable date with newly accepted amendments. The reform of the Constitution in Georgia is already an ordinary political phenomenon. In both states the issue of traditional relations between the state and the Church, the regulation of freedom of expression are relevant.
Norway and Georgia have been developing cultural and social connections for many years. The goal of our conference is to create an academic dialogue on important legal problems for Norway and Georgia and exchange views on important issues for both communities, research which will facilitate the exchange of information as well as the identification of priorities for common studies and encourage cooperation.
